Week ahead: Inflation data, US-China trade talks in focus

(Sharecast News) - Investors' focus over the coming week will shift towards the inflation picture around the world.
In the case of the US, the latest data showed that tariffs had yet to hit the jobs market hard, whilst price pressures had until now in fact ebbed a little more.
Would that last? Wednesday would provide a partial answer in the case of the States.
Consumer price figures were also due out in China, on Monday, followed by the euro area on Friday.
Also of key importance would be the round of US-China trade talks scheduled for Monday in London.
On home shores, it would be the turn of job market statistics, with ONS scheduled to report on employment during the month of April come Wednesday.
UK industrial production meanwhile data would arrive on Thursday.
Of interest as well would be the preliminary results of the University of Michigan's US consumer confidence survey - inflation expectations included - covering the month of June.
