Seeing Machines launches six-week pilot with Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America

(Sharecast News) - Computer vision technology firm Seeing Machines has launched a six-week pilot for its Guardian Generation 3 aftermarket solution with Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America.
Seeing Machines said on Friday that the collaboration marked "a significant step forward" in its efforts to enhance vehicle safety through advanced technology.

The AIM-listed group noted that the joint pursuit of business was already generating "a steady pipeline of opportunities", and that this first pilot with US-based Mitsubishi Electric company was "a direct result of that agreement".

Seeing Machines noted that the six-week pilot for its aftermarket solution serves to demonstrate "the incremental potential" that the collaboration can bring to the direct sales effort by Seeing Machines.

Chief executive Paul McGlone said: "It's a positive sign to have a Mitsubishi Electric Corporation company engaging with Guardian Generation 3 through a trial, and we're optimistic about where this could lead.

"The connected vehicle market in the US is significant and highly competitive and I believe that working with MEAA represents our best chance for success. In fact, this is just one of several trials we are currently running in the region, representing a total near-term market opportunity of over 18,000 vehicles across a range of transport and logistics companies."

As of 0925 BST, Seeing Machines shares were up 3.37% at 2.77p.
