Premier African starts second phase of testing at Zulu

(Sharecast News) - Premier African Minerals confirmed on Monday that the second phase of testing at its Zulu Lithium and Tantalum Project in Zimbabwe was beginning, with all key equipment suppliers present to support the optimisation process.
The AIM-traded company said the upcoming test run aimed to finalise and implement the plant's operating parameters to ensure that spodumene concentrate production met required specifications.

It anticipated that, following adjustments and further optimisation, the plant would achieve a sustained steady-state of operation.

That, the board said, would support a targeted plant availability of 22 days per month - deemed necessary to meet projected production levels.

Ahead of the restart, plant personnel and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) were carrying out inspections, routine maintenance, and a minor modification to flow control within the spodumene flotation section.

"At present the OEM and Zulu personnel are conducting inspections, normal maintenance, and a minor change to flow control in the spodumene float section in advance of this second test run," said CEO George Roach.

"Some operating parameter changes and the possible reintroduction of an additional reagent successfully used in 2024, to the extent necessary, round out the preparations.

"Our expectation remains that this will see another major step forward in the optimisation process."

At 1223 BST, shares in Premier African Minerals were up 4.64% at 0.03p.
