China, US extend 90-day truce on tariffs

(Sharecast News) - China and the US have extended their 90-day tariff truce as the world's two largest economies work to avert a disastrous trade war.
US President Donald Trump said he had signed an executive order authorising the extension, adding that "all other elements of the Agreement will remain the same", while China's commerce ministry said it would extend relief to American companies that were on export control and unreliable entities lists.
Trump had threatened to slap Chinese exports with tariffs of up to 145% while Chinese duties on US goods were set to hit 125%.
