(Sharecast News) - Construction output across the eurozone declined for the second month in a row in June, according to statistics out on Thursday from Eurostat.
Seasonally adjusted production in construction decreased by 0.8% following a 2.1% slump in May, Eurostat reported.
While production still remains 1.7% higher than June 2024, that was a sharp slowdown from the 3.6% annual growth registered in May and the 4.7% surge seen in April.
In month-on-month terms, building construction dropped by 1.8%, while specialised construction activities output fell by 0.2%/ However, civil engineering output increased by 0.5%.
Among member states where data was available, the steepest monthly declines were recorded in Spain (-5.6%) and Slovenia (-3.7%), while the sharpest growth rates were seen in Slovakia (+5.3%), and Portugal (+1.3%).
