ECR Minerals appoints Bitcoin specialist to board

(Sharecast News) - ECR Minerals announced the appointment of Perry Hothi as a specialist consultant to advise its board on Bitcoin and digital asset strategy on Friday, following its adoption of a Bitcoin and digital asset treasury management policy earlier in the month.
The AIM-traded firm said Hothi would bring over a decade of experience in Bitcoin mining operations, hardware development and large-scale infrastructure optimisation.

He previously served as chief technology officer at Argo Blockchain, where he led technical strategy and worked on mining efficiency, hardware-software integration and power usage optimisation.

Hothi currently works as a blockchain solutions architect for a US point-of-sale technology provider, focusing on next-generation Bitcoin mining hardware and energy management systems.

ECR said Hothi would join other specialists advising the board on implementing its digital asset strategy, which aims to complement its core focus on gold exploration and development in Australia.

"I am delighted to welcome Perry to the ECR team," said chairman Nick Tulloch.

"Amid ongoing interest in the digital currency sector, we have been determined from the start to create a policy that can deliver long term value to our shareholders.

"The future implementation of our BTC policy will require specialist advice and we have been assembling advisers for this - I will look forward to updating investors as our plans take shape."

The company said its strategy was designed to integrate its plans for commercial gold mining at the Blue Mountain Gold Project in Queensland with financial technology initiatives under the new policy.

At 1511 BST, shares in ECR Minerals were up 0.95% at 0.21p.
