Guardian Metal joins US Defense Industrial Base Consortium

(Sharecast News) - Guardian Metal Resources said on Tuesday that it has joined the US Defense Industrial Base Consortium (DIBC) and the Cornerstone Program as it strengthened ties with the US government following a $6.2m Department of Defense award for its Pilot Mountain tungsten project in Nevada.
The AIM-traded firm said the DIBC aimed to enhance the resilience of the US defence industrial base by supporting critical mineral extraction, supply chain security and emerging technologies, while the Cornerstone Program focussed on public-private partnerships to develop prototype projects addressing specific defence needs.

"In 2025, our partnership with the US government has advanced significantly, highlighted by our acceptance into critical programmes such as DIBC and Cornerstone," said chief executive Oliver Friesen.

"Over the year, we also joined the DARPA-sponsored Critical Minerals Forum and most importantly, secured a DPA Title III award from the United States Department of Defense.

"Collectively, these milestones underscore the strategic importance of our tungsten projects to US national security, and we look forward to further strengthening our relationship with the US government in support of these critical objectives."

Guardian Metal said the new memberships provided access to funding programmes, industry collaborations and potential partners as it advances its Nevada tungsten projects.

At 1113 BST, shares in Guardian Metal Resources were up 20.81% at 89.4p.
