Week ahead: US non-farm payrolls, Global PMIs in focus

(Sharecast News) - Investors' focus over the coming week was expected to be on the official monthly US jobs tally.
On Friday, the Department of Labor was expected to announce only a slight uptick in the pace of non-farm payrolls increases from 73,000 in July to 78,000 for August.
Also of potentially key importance, the Institute of Supply Management would release the results of its purchasing managers' surveys for manufacturing and services covering that same month on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.
Sandwiched in between, Wednesday would bring with it the release of the Federal Reserve's Beige Book.
Rival purchasing managers' surveys for the UK and euro area would be published on Monday and Wednesday, and on Monday in the case of that for Chinese factory activity.
Also on home shores, due out on Monday was a reading for UK money and credit, followed by another on retail sales come Friday.
In parallel, house price surveys for the UK in August would be forthcoming on Monday and Friday.
Worth noting, US financial markets would remained closed on Monday 1 September in observance of Labor Day.
