Gunsynd upbeat on recent assay results from Bear Twit

(Sharecast News) - Gunsynd said on Thursday that recent assay results from reconnaissance sampling at its Bear Twit Project in Canada confirmed high-grade lead, zinc and silver mineralisation, alongside elevated levels of copper, gallium and germanium.
The AIM-traded company, which owns 100% of the project in Canada's Northwest Territories, said 62 rock samples collected across a 12-kilometre trend showed widespread mineralisation consistent with a Mississippi Valley-Type (MVT) system.

It said 12 samples contained more than 10% zinc, while five returned silver grades above 60 grams per tonne.

Notable results included assays of up to 23.4% zinc, 11.4% lead and 162 grams per tonne of silver, with several samples also containing measurable concentrations of critical metals gallium and germanium, which were not analysed in previous campaigns.

Gunsynd said the presence of the additional elements enhanced the project's overall potential metal endowment.

The firm said the highest grades were recorded in barite-calcite veins and breccias hosted in Lower Palaeozoic carbonate rocks.

During the field programme, several historical drill collars not previously recorded were also identified.

Gunsynd had since engaged Critical Discoveries to compile, verify and digitise all historical exploration data to support modern drill targeting.

"These first assay results from Bear Twit are extremely encouraging and clearly confirm significant lead-zinc-silver mineralisation, with compelling upside for critical metals copper, gallium and germanium," said executive chairman Hamish Harris.

"The field work completed by the Critical Discoveries team has reinforced the project's strong potential for a MVT system, consistent with other projects in the Selwyn Basin.

"We look forward to progressing Bear Twit toward drill-ready status, with a view to applying for a permit and executing a maiden drill campaign when fully justified."

Gunsynd said it planned to advance the project to a drill-ready stage through detailed mapping, systematic channel sampling and geophysical surveys, with a land use permit application already in preparation.

At 1508 BST, shares in Gunsynd were up 15.25% at 0.17p.
