Pulsar Hekium reports another pressurised gas encounter

(Sharecast News) - Pulsar Helium reported another pressurised gas encounter at its Topaz project in Minnesota on Tuesday, after the Jetstream 4 appraisal well intersected multiple gas-bearing zones and recorded a bottom-hole pressure of about 674 psi at 1,457 feet.
The AIM-traded company said the result reinforced the strength of the reservoir and marked a continuation of the 100% gas-hit rate across all Jetstream wells drilled to date.

Jetstream 4 spudded on 9 November and is located between the earlier Jetstream #1 and #3 wells.

Drilling had so far identified gas shows between 1,187 and 1,277 feet and between 1,327 and 1,437 feet, accompanied by visible gas bubbling in drilling mud at surface during pipe connections.

The well was being continuously cored to maximise sample recovery and is progressing toward a planned total depth of 3,000 feet, with the main gas zone expected around 1,700 feet.

Once Jetstream 4 reaches total depth, Pulsar said it would undertake a simultaneous testing programme on both Jetstream 3 and 4 to reduce mobilisation costs.

The evaluation would include open-hole wireline logs, downhole imaging, controlled flow-testing and pressure build-up analysis.

Core and gas samples would be sent for laboratory testing to determine gas composition and helium concentrations, including assays for helium-3, the rare isotope previously detected at notable levels in Jetstream 1.

"Encountering another zone of pressurised gas at Jetstream 4 is a highly encouraging continuation of what we are seeing across the field," said president and chief executive Thomas Abraham-James.

"A ~674 psi pressure reading at this relatively shallow depth reinforces the strength of the reservoir and further validates the geological model built from the earlier Jetstream wells.

"Our team is focused on collecting the highest-quality data possible as we prepare for wireline logging, flow-testing, and full laboratory analysis, including assays for helium-3."

Pulsar said it is running a multi-well appraisal campaign across Topaz, where earlier drilling demonstrated strong reservoir pressure and, in the case of Jetstream 1, flow rates of around 1.3 million cubic feet per day with helium grades of 7% to 8% helium-4.

Laboratory work has also confirmed the presence of measurable helium-3, one of the highest naturally occurring terrestrial concentrations reported publicly.

The company said the latest drilling results supported its aim of advancing Topaz into a major primary helium development.

At 1109 GMT, shares in Pulsar Helium were down 0.45% at 37.33p.
