(Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 100 was 0.3% higher at 9,723.55 in afternoon trade on Thursday.
Burberry was on the rise after HSBC lifted its price target on the luxury fashion brand.
SSE fell as it traded without entitlement to the dividend.
Drinks giant Diageo was also lower after UBS cut its price target on the stock to 1,850p from 2,250p.
