FTSE 250 movers: Raspberry Pi surges; Plus500 tumbles

Raspberry Pi surged on Tuesday with traders citing a post on social media platform X suggesting the low-cost computer board could be used with artificial intelligence tools.

Raspberry Pi told Sharecast it was "not aware of any undisclosed developments driving the move".

A spokeswoman for the company noted the discussion on social media around Raspberry Pi's use in AI applications. She also pointed to chief executive Eben Upton's purchase of just under 5,000 shares on Monday, which she said "may be contributing to sentiment".

SSP was boosted by an upgrade to 'buy' from 'neutral' at UBS.

Applied Nutrition surged as it said first-half EBITDA was ahead of management expectations, while revenue shot up 57% to £74.5m.

Plus500 tumbled after the company's chief executive, chief financial officer and chief marketing officer sold 1.5m shares to Goldman Sachs.

Miners in general were weaker as copper prices fell, with Hochschild, Endeavour and Pan African Resources all lower.
