(Sharecast News) - Tuesday will bring full-year results from Games Workshop, half-year results from Barclays, Unilever and Unite Group and second-quarter numbers from GSK.
Investors will also eye half-year results from Croda, Essentra, Man Group, Inchcape and Gucci owner Kering.
As far as Barclays is concerned, Richard Hunter, head of markets at Interactive Investor, said it remains a preferred play in the sector, with the market consensus of the shares as a strong buy, reflecting the group's financial strength and geographical and business diversity.
"Highlights are likely to revolve around the US investment banking operation, which will likely have seen a noticeable benefit from the recent market volatility in the trading arm, as seen in the US," he said. "Meanwhile, its huge credit card business will be the subject of focus on both sides of the pond for any deterioration in consumer defaults."
Across the pond, quarterly results are due from Coca-Cola and Visa.
Also in focus will be the BRC shop price index for July, the US preliminary goods trade balance for June and S&P/Case-Shiller house prices for May.
