US house prices inch higher in May

(Sharecast News) - US house prices edged higher in May, according to the latest seasonally adjusted figures from the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
The FHFA's monthly house price index showed a 0.3% rise from April, with prices up 2.2% on the year. The previously reported 0.1% decline for April was left unrevised.

Across the nine census divisions, monthly changes ranged from a 0.6% fall in the Pacific region to a 1.4% increase in the East South Central division. Over the year, prices were down 0.3% in the Pacific but up 4.5% in the Middle Atlantic.
