Plus500 inks strategic partnership with Wealthsimple

(Sharecast News) - Fintech firm Plus500 has struck a strategic partnership with Canada's Wealthsimple, further strengthening its position as a leading business-to-business infrastructure provider in the fast‑growing futures market.
The deal will see Plus500 supply institutional‑grade clearing, order routing and risk‑management technology to support first‑ever direct access to US futures for Wealthsimple's more than four million Canadian retail clients.

Plus500 said the partnership delivers two key strategic benefits - expanding futures access to a large new retail audience, and further accelerating the growth of its B2B ecosystem, where it said a strong pipeline of additional opportunities was already in progress.

The FTSE 250-listed firm Wealthsimple's decision to select it reflected Plus500's ability to provide proprietary trading technology, CFTC‑regulated clearing and proven operational infrastructure as a single integrated solution.

Plus500 highlighted that the agreement builds on its recent momentum in B2B, including its appointment as clearing partner for CME Group and FanDuel's event‑based contracts platform, as well as partnerships with Topstep. Plus500 added that further B2B announcements were expected as the ecosystem continues to scale.

As of 1105 BST, Plus500 shares were up 0.80% at 4,052p.
