(Sharecast News) - On Tuesday, investors will eye full-year results from Kier Group and MJ Gleeson, as well as first-half results from Fintel and Accesso Technology.
Half-year results from Princes Group and a full-year preliminary statement from McBride are also due.
On the macro front, Chinese industrial production, retail sales, fixed asset investment and house price figures for August are due, while in the UK, the latest jobs data will be out. In Germany, the ZEW economic sentiment survey for September will be released.
The UK jobs data will be closely watched ahead of Thursday's Bank of England rate announcement.
Neil Wilson, UK investor strategist at Saxo Markets, said: "The labour market is no longer generating the intense wage pressures that worried the BoE in recent years. Employment remains broadly stage, but wage growth is cooling, easing the pressures on the BoE to raise rates.
"While the GDP report won't have moved the needle for the BoE, the employment report will be watched for how much scope the BoE might have should the inflation picture darken."
As far as the Chinese data is concerned, Danske Bank said: "We look for more of the same with still weak retail sales growth, but decent industrial production driven by exports and AI infrastructure investments.
"We will especially watch the housing data, where there have been tentative signs of stabilisation in home sales and easing declines in home prices lately."
