(Sharecast News) - Next week will see the release of results from the likes of B&Q owner Kingfisher and JD Sports.
On Monday, full-year results from Craneware are due, along with the latest rate decision from the People's Bank of China.

Tuesday will bring half-year results from Kingfisher, Smiths Group, Yu Group, Midwich and Mortgage Advice Bureau. Across the pond, quarterly results from AutoZone will be out.

On the macro calendar, UK public sector net borrowing figures for August will be released.

On Wednesday, Renishaw will publish full-year results, while JD Sports Fashion, Ceres Power, Judges Scientific and Kooth will release half-year numbers. In the US, quarterly results from General Mills will be in focus.

As far as JD Sports is concerned, AJ Bell analysts Russ Mould and Danni Hewson said the sportswear retailer recently tripped up, slashing its profit outlook on continued US weakness amid cost-of-living pressures and delayed back to school spending.

"The half-year trading update wasn't uniformly negative with bright spots in Asia Pacific and the UK which returned to positive like-for-like sales growth in the second quarter, supported by strong sales of football replica kit," they said.

"Despite the profit downgrade JD Sports stuck to its free cash flow guidance with the group flipping into a net cash position in early August from a net debt position. This provides it with some cushioning to absorb the pressure from downbeat consumer sentiment.

"Investors will be looking for clarity on the extent of US promotional activity and margin implications as well as an update on ongoing store closures."

On Thursday, investors will eye full-year results from DFS and CVS, half-year results from housebuilder Vistry Group and Raspberry Pi and a trading update from Halma in the UK, while Costco is slated to report quarterly numbers in the US. Third-quarter results from H&M will also be in focus.

In terms of macro releases, the German Ifo index for September will be out, along with US initial jobless claims and new home sales data. Also of note will be the latest policy announcement from the Swiss National Bank.

There are no major UK corporate releases due on Friday, but in the US, the Michigan consumer sentiment index for September will be out, along with durable goods orders for August.
