(Sharecast News) - Wall Street futures were mostly higher ahead of the opening bell on Monday, helped by a rebound in tech after last week's sharp selloff in AI‑linked names.
As of 1225 BST, Dow Jones futures were flat, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures had the indices opening 0.60% and 1.26% firmer, respectively.
The Dow closed 175.28 points lower on Friday, while the Nasdaq experienced steep losses, as a renewed sell-off in the AI and chip sectors dragged markets lower.
Tech stocks were in focus again prior to the open, as Intel climbed more than 4% in pre‑market action after JPMorgan upgraded the stock, while CoreWeave - which slumped over 25% last week on debt worries - recovered around 3% early on.
However, sentiment around the AI trade remained fragile after CNBC reported that Anthropic's Q3 revenues hit $16.8bn, up from $11.6bn in the second quarter, but the slower pace of growth raised fresh questions over how quickly the AI build‑out can continue.
Oil markets were also drawing an amount of investor attention as geopolitical risks intensified as ship attacks in the Persian Gulf increased, while Ukraine and Russia exchanged strikes on energy infrastructure over the weekend, including a Ukrainian hit on an oil terminal in St Petersburg. Longer‑dated crude futures have begun to move higher on expectations that supply disruptions could persist well into 2027.
On the macro front, the National Association of Houseuilder's October housing market index will be released at 1500 BST.
While no major corporate earnings were slated for publication on Monday, Meta Platforms and Tesla were both scheduled to report before the end of the week.
